Wednesday ended up being a busy day for Amy and McKenna.
About a month ago McKenna had her hearing tested because her cleft palate can cause hearing loss. At that time we found out that McKenna has mild to moderate hearing loss in both ears and Amy made an appointment for McKenna to see her ENT.
Wednesday morning McKenna woke up with a cold and complained of a sore throat. That same day she was scheduled to see her ENT. Well, the ENT took one look at McKenna's ears and said "Let's schedule her tubes." Sounds like she has fluid behind her eardrums that cannot drain because of the cleft. So, June 24th McKenna will be having outpatient surgery to have tubes placed in her ears. This is 4 days before we leave town to go visit Amy's parents for a week.
Anyway - Amy and McKenna got home from Kenna's appointment at about 11:30. By 12:30 Kenna had a barky cough and could barely talk. Yep she had croup. So, at 2:15 Kenna saw her pediatrician. She was placed on prednisone. This all happened before Amy had to go to work on Wednesday night. No nap for Amy.
Well, we are now two days later and both kids have colds, but things are looking up.
